History:Considered some of the very premier Caucasian carpets, vintage Shirvan carpets have a short, even and soft pile with very detailed knotting and intricate design.The dyes are exceptıonal and sophistıcated and the color range is considerable.Due to the respect for both Shirvan colours and designs, carpets from these groups are now being successfully reproduced by many other weaving centres. Though less finely woven than the old antique pieces from the Caucasus these modern weavings maintain the same high standards of design and colours and are extremely popular as decorative carpets.
