This Multı Paneled kilim has been woven on a tribal ground loom in panels that are then joined in the centre
Kurdish groups in the South East of Turkey were prolific weavers producıng a fasanating range rugs and kilims as well as textiles needed in their daily nomadic life. These include storage sacks, kilims (both decorative and functional ), bedding bags, babies cradles, etc often embellished with symbolic and tribal motifs.
This particular weaving was used to adorn the bed of respected guests.
