This beautiful kilim was hand woven by a young semi nomadic woman in the village of Çal outside Denizli in Western Turkey. Typically these kilims were woven as part of a young woman's marriage dowry and comprised traditional motifs from the area, as well as personal symbols that can reflect and tell the story of  the weavers desire for protection, abundance, happiness, fertility, etc.
Kilims like this from the west of Turkey are known for their clear geometric designs and pastel tones. A kilim this size could takeeone woman 3-4 months to weave including the hand spinning and dying of the wools .
This particular kilim is unusually fine with a beautifully balanced composition .
