This beautiful Vintage Esme Village Rug was hand woven as part of a young woman's marriage dowry and is easily recognızable by ıt s unique design and distinctive color palette featuring green and red tones. Esme is one of the smaller villages that surrounds the famous rug weaving centre  of Usak in western Turkey. Esme is particularly known for kilim weaving with everyaspect of the kilim, from spinning the wool and dying the colours would have been done by the weavers themselves though each kilim would be one of a kind and  include motifs and symbols that were individual to each womans personal story.
Our vintage pieces are all preloved and due to the age and/or handmade nature of these items, minor signs of patination,fading, wear, or slightly unsymmetrical lines may be present. These are not considered flaws, they are part of their unique nature and why we love using them in our homes as they add both character and charm.
