A central Anatolian agricultural town that is a gateway market for many rugs and kilims made in the  small surrounding villages .The Aksaray area has produced many fine kilims and a few carpets though it cannot claim, as can other regions, very distinctive design compositions, and those which appear are often composite arrangements of motifs that bear a greater association with other places,particularlyTaspinar, Yesilover and Konya  Konya.
Colours are in general, of a slightly darker palette than Konya weavings, using aubergine, reds, greens,and autumnal tones  however brighter reds and oranges can appear similar to those woven in  Galveri  village .
