Maimana Kilims are easily recognizable by their rhythmic geometric patterns and harmonious verigated colors. Currently hugely popular with designers, these handwoven kilims are not only a beautiful decorative element for your home but also durable and very affordable !  
Inspired by antique tribal weravings, this contemporary kilim collection represents the modern transformation of tradition inspired by antique Turkish weavimgand symbolig motifs and reinventing their design with more contemporary colors.
These are woven by hand, generally by women in the homes in Maimana, capital of the Faryab province, North Afghanistan, and provide a much needed source of income for the women and their families. As kilims are are woven without a pile, often they have no obvious back or front surface, so can be used on both sides.
 
All our store items are handmade and with that in mind,  minor patination or veriagation of the colours, or slightly unsymmetrical lines may be present.These are not considered flaws, they are part of their unique nature and why we love using them in our homes as they add both character and charm.
