The Carpet Museum in Istanbul

So many people don't know of this fabulous museum in Istanbul housing some of Turkey's more spectacular historic carpets.This is not the Turkish and Islamic Museum, which also houses a wonderful collection, but a dedicated carpet museum whose entrance is at the back of Hagia Sophia just to the right of the pavilion before the entrance into Topkapi Palace. I have reposted an article on the restoration and opening of the museum and for all you rug enthusiasts out there as I am sure you will find a visit to be a rare treat that will leave you mesmerized!
