Yozgat is a prodiminately agricultural town in north central Turkey close to the famous weaving region of Kayseri and many of the kilims that were once woven in this area are often categorised under a 'Kayseri Label'
Young women wove theses fine kilims for their wedding dowry using wool from their own sheep that they then hand spun; natural dyes that they made from local plants and created free form designs using motifs and symbolism that were passed down generationally.
 
Our vintage pieces are all preloved and due to the age and/or handmade nature of these items, minor signs of patination,fading, wear, or slightly unsymmetrical lines may be present. These are not considered flaws, they are part of their unique nature and why we love using them in our homes as they add both character and charm.
