The Turkish village of Taspınar (Stone Spring) is considered among the important weaving centers of Cappadocia. Here in the homes, carpets are knotted, predominately in Ceyrek (small), Seccade (traditional) and Taban (large) formats. The older as well as the newer production are distinguished by the high lustrious quality of the wool, careful medium quality knotting and clear natural colours .
Typical for Taspinar and Arisaman are carpets with very bold elongated, almost oval medllions with either a more floral or geometrical double prayer medallions. The varied inner patterns are clear and distinct often with earring or 'amulet' motifs in the corners, which reflect the weavers earlier nomadic origins
The palette is dominated by rich natural local dyes of warm red and indigo blue tones.
